Weekly Round Up

Hello there! I'm so happy to announce that the B&K shop is back. I'll be adding a several items each day. Get ready for new prints and sorority bows. There is also a mini dollar sale. :)

Have a great weekend.

Did you know Flynn and Rapunzel were in Frozen? Whaaat? Exactly.

Because every girl needs to cute striped shirt in her closet.

I'm in love with these Lilly Pulitzer She's A Fox buttercups shorts.

This makes me miss Michael Scott. And Jim and Pam. And even Dwight.

I purchased this monogram for one of my Lilly tumblers and I love it so much!

Meet Aubrey: 9 Weeks Old

I was inspired by College Prepster recent post about her dog, Teddy. Aubrey turned two last month and it is crazy how they grow up so fast. I found this on Tumblr when I was trying to post more videos of him on YouTube (failed attempt). I wish I took more videos and pictures when he was this little. Having a pet brings so much joy to your life. He makes me so happy and I can't imagine life without him!

For all of you Aubrey fans, I'll try to post more Aubrey pictures of him every week (and maybe even a video!).

Addicted to Gold

I'm so addicted to metallic gold lettering. I've been playing around with a few Lilly quotes on Photoshop and this is what I came up with today. I will post a tutorial soon on how you can make your own gold lettered prints. This would be perfect to hang on your wall. Feel free to use these prints for your own personal use.

Music Monday

I hope you had a great weekend! I ended up spending my Sunday enjoying the view of the Golden Gate bridge and strolling around the Crissy Field area. This was the second time I took Aubrey to the beach. He loved playing in the sand and running and sniffing the other dogs, but he would not get in the water! The waves scared the poor little guy. I wish I took a video of his reaction when the waves would get closer. It was simply hilarious! He ran so fast away from the waves. He's a Bay Area dog. He should like the water. Perhaps I can sign him up for swimming classes? I always wondered if dogs have a innate skill to swim..

With temperatures hitting 65°, I am in full-blown spring mode and so is my playlist.

Corrine Bailey Rae - Put Your Records On

I can't help to belt out this song whenever it comes on the radio. I can picture tandem bikes, picnics and sunshine.

3LW - Playas Gon' Play

I've been hooked on the Low Rise Jeans and Baby Tees channel on Songza. It takes me back to my middle school days. Girl power! #bestplaylistever Seriously.

Pharrell Williams - Happy

Nothing but smiles with this song.

Colbie Caillat - Brighter Than The Sun

I'm a big fan of Colbie Caillat. I just love her voice in this one. I recently watched her Tahiti series on her Youtube channel. Not only did I want to book a ticket to Tahiti right away, it made bust out my Colbie Caillat cds and play them in my car.

Beyonce - Blow

A few months later.. and I still have this on repeat. Beyonce did it again.

Weekly Round Up

Happy Friday! I finally have a weekend off. Yay! This weekend, I will have afternoon tea with my sister and finally take my dog out to Fort Funston. I'll also use my time to finally get my receipts and business together and file my taxes.

What are you up to this weekend?

I like to ocean sounds option. I feel like I'm on a beach.

When I was in high school, I always wanted to be asked to prom in a creative way.

After watching Frozen, I sometimes find myself knocking on my sister's door and asking her if she wants to build a snowman with me. Ha! Did you guys snag the Frozen dvd this week?

This penguin's reaction at 1:19.

Zucchini crisps? I'm in! Looks delicious!

So how sad was that Scandal episode last night? Especially that last scene? OMG!

Here's your weekly cute puppy post.

I'm a big Parks and Rec fan and this is perfect.

You ever wonder why girls take so long to get ready? This is why we do.

Babies eating lemon for the first time. Laughing so hard.

Happy Spring!

HAPPY SPRING! The weather is just perfect right now in San Francisco. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I already see some spring flower blooms in our garden. I wanted to celebrate the first day of spring here on the blog by sharing my first day of spring outfit. I recently purchased the Catch of Day callahans and I paired it with a plain white Made tee. I accessorized with Target gold sandals and a statement necklace.

The B&K shop is currently closed, but I wanted to give you a chance to win one of our new Lilly Pulitzer bows. I recently received the fabric shipment of the 2014 spring prints. One lucky reader will win one bow from me. :)

What did you wear on the first day of spring?

What I Wore: Shorts - Lilly Pulitzer Catch of the Day Callahans | Sandals - Target Lavada Slide Sandal | White T-Shirt | Made | Sunglasses - Raybans | Koozie - Lilly Pulitzer Tiger Lilly | Nail Polish - Essie's Avenue Maintain

Have a lovely weekend.

What are you up to this weekend? For me, it's actually the start of my work week. I wish I could be saying TGIF, but it is more like a Monday for me. Aside from work, I'll be watching new favorite show, Portlandia on Netflix. I can't believe I haven't seen this show before. Have you seen this show before? Thoughts?
I'm super excited because it's finally warm enough to wear shorts in San Francisco. Time to bust out the LP callahans! I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Here is my weekly round up of fun posts I found on the web..

  • Why couldn't Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm (man crush!) do this when I was touring Top of the Rock?
  • Move over First Kiss! First Sniff is just as good - actually, maybe even better. Puppies
  • I'm going to use my time off from the B&K store to finally organize my fabric stash. It's getting ridiculous guys.. I should just open up my own Joann's Fabrics.
  • Well, that's a great way to see the world. You can LIVE on a cruise ship.
  • I'm a sucker for puppies in cute clothes.
  • Old Navy recently came out with J.Crew-esque Pixie pants. Must give this one a try.
  • Add these 8 places to my travel bucket list, please.
  • It's actually Orpah, not Oprah.

Rest, Relax & Rewind

I've been going back and forth with this decision, but now, I feel like it is time to finally announce that I am closing down the B&K shop until further notice. A few months ago, I had a little shop with a few items and customers. It was tough setting my brand apart from other bows shops on Etsy and Storenvy, but with the help of Instagram and the B&K campus rep program, I was able to gain a decent following for my store. Almost eight months later, I never thought B&K would get this big and it is time to make some changes.

For the next few weeks, I will be working on improving the overall brand and store experience. I have read all of your suggestions and reviews about our products. I will take all of your ideas in to mind when it comes to designing new products and lowering the current production time. It has been difficult to find time between my full time job, my personal life, and B&K. Juggling these three things have definitely been a challenge for me. I honestly love what I do in Human Resources and B&K. During this break, I hope to finally get some rest (yes!), hire an extra employee, and create a schedule for personal events and work.

I do not have an exact return date for the store. For this reason, I have also decided to shut down the campus rep program for the spring. I know a lot of you were excited about the spring program and have already sent me emails about your interest in joining the team. When I decide to open the summer campus rep program, I will send email reminders about the application process.

I would like to recognize all of my campus reps from Fall, Winter, and Spring. The B&K campus reps have done such an amazing job at promoting the brand.

Because of your continued support, B&K continues to grow. I've sent bows to girls from Florida to Hawaii (still waiting on you, Alaska!) and even to Canada and the Netherlands. I've enjoyed seeing all your photo posts on Twitter and Instagram on how you styled your bows. It makes me so happy.

Thank you.

xx Paulette

Each campus rep has done a fabulous job promoting the store. They are all amazing and I am so lucky to have them on our team. Thank you all so much! I look forward to working with you all again in March.
